Creative workshop: Build your own pallet

In our creative workshop, we start with a current exhibition at Form/Design Center and let it become a starting point for our own creation. Each occasion has a new theme where children get to discover design and form by experimenting, building and trying different materials and techniques. On this occasion we are inspired by the exhibition Swedese x Moraoch trying on the role of furniture designer. How do you design a piece of furniture that is both stylish and stable? We design and decorate our own pallets in cardboard and corrugated board.

Creative workshop: Bind a book

Welcome to a creative workshop for children where we draw inspiration from current exhibitions at Form/Design Center. Together with educator Anna Zingmark, we explore form, materials and ideas through playful creation. On this occasion, we are inspired by the book exhibitions in the store's gallery — Svensk Bokkunstoch [Best Book Design from all over the World]) (https://www.formdesigncenter.com/utstallning/best-book-design-all-over-world), and explore the form, colour and material of the book through our own creation.

Meetings and hikes

In 'Meetings and Walks', Form/Design Center and Sveriges Arkitekter Skåne invite you to city walks and field trips where you get to experience Scanian architecture nominated for the Swedish Architects' Awards 2026. Go behind the scenes, meet the architects behind the projects and explore environments that make a real difference — conversations that both celebrate the successes and deepen the perspectives. During April and May, we will carry out five strikes in Malmö and Trelleborg. Each visit gives an in-depth insight into the projects — from the idea and process to the finished environment — and ends with open conversations where we reflect together on the living environment and its importance for those of us who live and work in the region. *April 8: * Lighthouse Tower, Malmö *April 21: * Snickeriet, Malmö *April 29: * Upper and Stadsparkskvarteren, Trelleborg *May 12: * Styrmansbron, Malmö *May 28: * Rosa Torget, Malmö

Explore plant coloring and create vibrant patterns with nature's own pigments. During the course you work with flowers, leaves and everyday materials to give colour and shape to textiles — a playful and sustainable way to work.

Discover intarsia — the technique where thin veneers are joined together into patterns and images. Explore how precision, repetition and material sense interact in wood. In this course you will have two inspiring days to work practically with both graphic designs and free motifs.

Material Depot: Waste

Welcome to a seminar within Material Depot focusing on waste materials! The event will be hosted by inspirational lecturers from research, manufacturing and the creative sector who highlight current challenges and opportunities in the transformation of the manufacturing industry. During the evening, we will also introduce the new project 'SPOK SWE + DK' and inform about an upcoming call to promote exchanges between designers and manufacturers across national borders.

About Form/Design Center

Welcome to Form/Design Center — the meeting place for architecture, design and arts and crafts. Experience exhibitions, seminars, workshops and screenings. Visit our bookstore and design shop. The house is open to all, Tuesday through Saturday.

Form/Design Center is run with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the City of Malmö, Region Skåne and Statens kulturråd. In 2018, Form/Design Center was designated by the government as a national node for the designed living environment.
